Stretching 48 miles from Estes Park to Grand Lake, this scenic drive reaches an elevation of 12,183 feet. As it winds through the park, visitors experience breathtaking views of alpine tundra, towering peaks, and diverse wildlife such as elk, marmots, and bighorn sheep. Due to its high altitude, the road is only open from late May to mid-October, depending on snowfall. The extreme elevation changes make it one of the most stunning drives in the United States.
