Sequoia National Park is home to the world’s largest tree by volume, the General Sherman Tree. This massive giant sequoia stands about 275 feet tall and has a trunk diameter of over 36 feet at its base. Estimated to be around 2,200 years old, the tree continues to grow, adding more wood mass each year than a typical tree in a lifetime. Despite its immense size, the General Sherman Tree is not the tallest nor the widest tree on Earth, but its sheer volume makes it the undisputed giant among all living trees.
